NYC Stop & Frisk: Estimated 342,000 victims in 2011

    CBS Local New York: NYPD "Stop and Frisks" Hit All-Time High

    That's like illegally searching 90% of Minneapolis in one year.

    They just agreed to a $15M payout for illegal loitering arrests. I wonder what this will cost them eventually?

    none of those stopped have money to sue? surely not all of these meet terry frisk criteria....

    Well, the vast majority of them are poor people. I think the statistic from the video I posted the other week was 92% inner-city black and Hispanic. Can't remember.

    Has the ACLU (or any other group) challenged this practice in a court?

    I think the ACLU is constantly involved in these cases all over the country. As they are in this one in New York. But for every one they win, there are a hundred more that go either unprosecuted, settled, or never charged. It's a never-ending battle.
