Partnering with those idiots at DHS automatically means the Bureau of Counterterrorism is doomed to fail.
It means that we're doomed to be subject to their abuse.
Oh that too!!!
I bet nothing will be done to address the TSA Red Team failure rates that are off the charts; instead we'll just have more Security Theatre.
Just wait until HR 3166 is passed.
If you can't "indefinitely detain" US citizens, just remove their citizenship. Brilliant!
I can't find anything on it on thomas.loc.gov, though. Every search I do turns up either an old, unrelated bill from 2005-2005, or an error message. I can find info on it only on various Ron Paul sites and that link you provided. I wonder what's up.
Seriously. Are these people ever going to stop?
Only when enough of the sheeple get their snouts out of the grass and start acting like citizens instead.
This is almost surreal.
So, for the "crime" of speaking your mind against some insanity on the part of the government, one could be considered and "associated force" of groups "engaged in hostilities against the United States", and then effectively disappeared for exercising a First Amendment right?
Every time I think things can't get worse, they do.
It's a dystopian novel come to life.
Speaking of which . . .
Here's an excerpt from "It Can't Happen Here," p. 186 in my paperback:
I think I might have to read some Sinclair Lewis.
He's quite the local here in his hometown of Sauk Center, MN, a couple hours west of Minneapolis. Reportedly the feeling was not mutual.
Brilliant. Simply brilliant.
I've only read The Jungle. I had to keep reminding myself it wasn't a contemporary novel.
Another excerpt from that Press TV link:
The irony ...... a country that repeatedly states that it defends freedom throughout the world, yet in reality.....
FYI, The Jungle was written by Upton Sinclair. Sinclair Lewis wrote Babbitt, Main Street, Elmer Gantry, Arrowsmith.
But Upton gets several unflattering mentions in It Can't Happen Here!
The Sinclairs get very confusing, I know.
OT - my son, when he was a baby, used to sit on Upton Sinclair's lap in the nursing home where the old gentleman resided. Both of them got a kick out of it.
