Headline reads "Former OIA TSA employee faces child porn charges", but he didn't become "former" until after the arrest for 10 counts of possession of photography of sexual performance by a child (ages 5-11), a third-degree felony. That's exactly who I want pawing at my son's private parts in the airport -NOT . I won't be reading Ronbo's response to this, but whatever he comes up with should drive the rest of you stark raving nuts. Enjoy! http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news...-porn-arrest-oia-tsa-20111101,0,7575799.story PS: Maybe these people would care to comment: http://homeland.house.gov/about/membership since http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/29/john-mica-tsa_n_1064438.html Just Sayin'
The guy says he downloaded the images out of curiosity. Who knows if he was really just curious or trying to explain away his perversion, but it makes me wonder... How many of these TSA screeners had criminal tendencies before they were hired, and how many are weak human beings who, once put in a position with immense power over the general public, were cultivated into criminals? When a man spends many of his waking hours wielding what he believes to be unchecked power, I can see how he might think it's okay to allow himself to explore his taboo curiosities.
I'm curious about a lot of things. To be clear, sex with, among, and around children is not one of them. If this were one of my predilections, I certainly wouldn't be downloading anything to satisfy my curiosity. But, yeah, it's apparent that there are some borderline whackos in the ranks of TSA, and their unflagging beliefs in their own ultimate authority clearly serves to allow them to believe they may do anything outside of normal decency without retribution. Of the 10 sex offenders arrested this year in Fisher1949's list, 9 invloved children. That's a pretty high percentage of employees. They say for every person caught doing a crime, it is merely 10% of those engaging. So, in an organization the size of TSA, we'll say it's currently at 60,000, there are likely 1,000 sex offenders, of which 900 are into kids. Ergo, there are 2 pedophiles at every airport getting their jollies off of taking nudie pictures of kids and/or rubbing their genitals in the name of safety.. Oh, and
Great find! Posted to Drudge. For some reason the folks at the Orlando Sentinel don't seem to know that their airport code is MCO, not OIA. This is at least the fifth time I've seen them make this error, in the headline no less. This makes 10 screeners arrested so far this year for child sex crimes and two from MCO. http://www.myfoxorlando.com/dpp/news/orange_news/013110_TSA_agent_arrested_for_molestation-
Well, based on my numbers above, it would appear the MCO is now safe from pedophiles. Actually, I would expect a higher percentage there, as if one were a determined pedophile, where better to get your jollies undetected than as an airport security screener for TSA at MCO? It's like a dream job and jackpot all rolled into one. Now, some have postulated that this is no reason for alarm since one is likely to find such people in other jobs. Fine. Here's an interesting tidbit: There are 60,000 cast members (aka employees) at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida (source: Walt Disney Parks & Resorts). That's the same number of employees in one corporate location as in TSA nationwide. I did some Francining (Googling for the uninitiated - warning: don't open if you've recently eaten) using the terms "pedophile Disney" and "child molester Disney World". The only things that came up were news reports of registered sex offenders living around the Walt Disney World Resort, and a report from 2007 of a father who had been caught molesting his adoptive daughter at one of the Disney-owned hotels. While gross and disturbing, well, not one report of a Walt Disney World Resort employee having even been accused of child molestation. Using the search term "child molester tsa"? I got back nearly 2 million hits discussing stories such as this one. Ergo, there should be around 1,000 pedophiles in the employ of Walt Disney World alone if we are to believe what we have been told about the numbers being equal at all employers. This is obviously false. TSA seriously has a child molestation problem, and it's allowing its employees unfettered access to everyone's bodies. These procedures are unnecessary, they are ineffective, and they are likely to cause more harm than the thing they are designed to prevent: a bomb the size of the folds in a scrotum.
"Some?" Anyone willing to put on the blue shirt every day and grope people in the name of security theatre is a whacko. Yes, I do mean all of them. The ones that enjoy it are monsters, and the ones who don't enjoy it are simply too stupid to be employed anywhere else.
I think there is a third category, those TSA employees who are to stupid to realize what they are doing is wrong.
If someone is that stupid, then they're unemployable in any other capacity. There may also be TSA employees who do not enjoy groping people, but tolerate it for the fringe benefits of stealing passenger belongings and/or accepting bribes from smugglers.
Always. Are they really stupid (the ones who think they're actually doing something useful by groping people and the ones who can't even be employed by McDonalds), or just evil (the perverts and the thieves)?
Tch, tch, tch, barbell. Isn't it obvious that the TSA is not looking for BOMBS? They are looking for *drum roll* DRUGS! (See, even a DeafBlonde can figure that out! )
