People who keep guns and know how to use them effectively are called "citizens."

People who are afraid of guns and won't keep them or learn to use them effectively, or are simply not allowed to have them are called "subjects."

 

Amen... A armed society is a polite society. Just have to start them young as next to the olympic developmental program, the next largest trainer of marksmen <18yrs in the US is the Boy Scouts of America.

 

I teach the children of friends on a semi-regular basis. The Boy Scouts don't do handgun so much, and while they do learn the utter basics on a .22 rifle, it's not all that helpful for shotgun, either.
