Hi- Just ran across this pay-for-read, sounds like a big "C"onservative digest of the bigger TSA failings reported on. Don't know if such a thing is appropriate to post.

I did edit & link to it in My Story simply b/c of the nice description in the free-preview:
" survivors of sexual assault also struggle with the decision to either be seen naked or be felt up—neither of which are savory options for someone who has suffered from sexual trauma."

I'd like to connect with the woman described in the piece. Imagine how many of these incidents are not reported, and how many multiples of that are people who simply will not fly and subject themselves to this (and thus aren't counted either).

Yesterday I did get a little upset with the PTSD satire and hoped it could be moved to a non-"news" section, or one for humor. I hope I'm still penalty-free (with apologies for trying to communicate that quietly).

For the next press release, I'm looking/thinking possibly for some tie-in between TSA's ever-more-intrusive searches & the effect on rape/molestation victims. First-hand experiences would be helpful (the TSA molestation, not the original event :D), also being able to cite authorities on the subject who have already written about it.

Unlike that "other place", moderation here is not an end in itself. Moderation has been limited to educational opportunities (one of the most ironic was a month ago when one of the newly-made mods posted a copy of the photo that has generated the largest # of Righthaven* lawsuits) and technical corrections like fixing video embedding. Nobody has come even remotely close to being "disciplined".

*Neutered & down for the count, we hope

You got it. I can assist by excerpting what's on reporting sites, including Susie Castillo's, and provide more graphic details of my own experience, (which only the police have at this time).

There's a group in Texas, the name of which escapes me right now, who understand the trauma that victims of rape go through at the checkpoint. Give me enough time and I'll recall it and send it to you, Mike, together with a contact name.

    Ta da!

I had some e-mail correspondence with the ED of this organization. She seemed to understand.

Just to add, I have a pretty ignorant response letter from TSA regarding the sexual abuse issue. When I have time I'll post the relevant paragraph.
