Pistole will be testifying in about 1 hour from now (currently 10:10 AM CST) about the Strip Search issue. Don't know if it will be televised. If anyone knows please post.

Also on topic will be the TSA Strip Search Machines.

He lies almost every time he opens his mouth. We could write the script for him. We know what he's going to say.

I agree but each and every time Pistole does speak more people can see him for what he really is.

I think Pistole would have been right at home on Hitlers staff.

Subcommittee Hearing: A Review of Passenger Screening Technology at U.S. Airports (Subcommittee will move directly to CLOSED Hearing)

    Subc
Guess Pistole will get to hide behind closed doors instead of answering to America directly.

I'm going to dig up an interview he did on NPR. In the transcript that they posted on the website, you should see the comments that came rolling in. One woman -- I'll never forget it -- said he did so much dancing around the questions he should've been on Dancing with the Stars. On another blog I frequent, eyeofthestorm by Crispin Sartwell, somebody else posted a hilarious comment that had me in tears -- they pretended to translate Pistole's interview -- something about "potted plant. geranium. trapeze. call me elmo" -- I'm paraphrasing. Will see if I can find that, too.

Is it too much to hope for that the reason they're closing the hearing is because they're planning on reading him the riot act and don't want the People to have to see him crack and break down weeping like a baby?

Okay, here's Pistole's Orwellian interview with NPR. Puke warning if you listen to it:

Sorry, but I'm not scrolling through the 67 comments to find the funny one from the woman likening him to a contestant on Dancing with the Stars -- oh, wait, I see that I quoted her in the link below -- skip listening to Pistole -- it's a waste of time anyway.

Here's the comment from Crispin Sartwell's blog shortly after that had me laughing so hard -- actually, the whole entry is hilarious, starting with Crisipin's take and then going on to the "geranium" comment, from November 16, 2010:

He's giving them "classified" information to make them feel important and to manipulate them by means of it. It will prove to them why he needs to strip search 85 year old ladies using walkers.

I'd like to say it's outrageous that these hearings are being held behind closed doors, but I'm running low on outrage. These types of things have become so commonplace in our "The Terrorists Are Everywhere!" society.

And how much you wanna bet the wankers in Congress, with few exceptions, fall right into line once Pissy scares them with a few of his SSI stories?

I'm afraid more of Mr. and Ms. Congressperson's relatives will have to get stripped and groped before we see any changes.

I made this statement to my representatives. In fact, paraphrasing, "you really don't care about the citizens or Constitution, but maybe you would do something if it were your loved ones being assaulted and humiliated, or you getting this treatment just to go to work or exercise your rights."

but moc ARE getting groped, and their tone has changed a LOT since a year ago. Before terribly long, I believe those blue gloves will be forced out of our crotch areas. they will claim they CAN do it, and they WILL do in some cases, possibly making sure it gets good press. But most people will cease to get molested.

Lenore Zimmerman made a difference by coming forward and helping the other two women share their experience. While nothing can undo the harm to these women, the benefit is that this will become a staple in future criticism of TSA along with the 6 year old girl groping and the diaper removal incident.

The latter are a cited routinely in TSA stories, even in mainstream media, and this episode will likely join the group in many future stories. Kind of a trifecta of shame.

Just took a look at it. The two of them captured the insanity and absurdity of it all with two short posts.

I loved the 'geranium' comment so much I'm going to find some geraniums in pots and place them side by side and that will be my new avatar for awhile.

the very dna of the people is against this. That is not going to change. We will win on this. It remains to be seen how impending financial events affect this, but the silver lining in that very dark cloud is that useless activities like this simply will cease to exist, as unaffordable. of course, flying itself will be impacted.

    Ha! Love it!!

I wish I knew who "posthuman" is. He/she is the person who made that great comment at Crispin's site. For some reason it comes across as a "he." (Totally off-topic fascinating topic, about which I'm sure books have been written -- what are the signifiers that we take to indicate male or female in written discourse?)

Calling him a (expletive deleted) would be an insult to useful fertilizer.
