Great idea, let's put the perverts & pedophiles to work in the schools! Maybe somebody can help place this senile clown in a nice elder care facility.

    Spokesman-Review: Follow TSA example

The horrible images created in everyone’s mind by those unimaginable events in Connecticut have again created demands that Congress do something. Gun control activists and the media are providing the diversion our politicians need to avoid the real problem. Will gun control work? Columbine happened during the 10 years the last assault weapon legislation was in place.

The real answer is to provide TSA-type security at every school. This would become the one area our federal government could make an actual difference in our education system.

Maybe the TSA workers at the grades 1 through 6 could learn something, the upper grades would clearly be too difficult.

They could, however, be an example of what might happen if you don't pursue some type of higher education.

This proposal is not entirely convincing. In many schools you already have metal detectors, which are fine, IMO. Supppose you put a TSA bozo or some security stiff at the entrance. He or she merely becomes the first person you have to eliminate. In the case of the Sandy Hook perp, this would have been accomplished with no hesitation on the part of the perp. The security guard or even cop will discourage or stop the angry get-even type punk shooter like we had a few days ago in Bakersfield, CA. It probably would not stop a cold psycho like Lanza, who murdered his own mother for breakfast then continued on his way, although it would certainly raise the bar. Remember the goof ball in Oslo two years ago who killed the 69 young people on the island. One of the first guys he took out was the armed security guard and then he was home free.

what clearly has to buttress these types of things is training of teachers and staff to a lesser extent the kids, on how not to be victims, a reaction plan and escape path, just like for fires, and give some of them appropriate tools.

To piggieback on Nacht, I think more videos like this should be posted for members of the public. Perhaps even given to teachers as a matter of training? I hate to think like that, as this should not be an issue we face, but since it is, this type of information is basic enough for the masses, and specific enough to give an idea of how to properly respond when faced with an active shooter situation. These folks in Houston have got it figured out:

Well crap, so much for my ability to embed. How about just follow this link:

Wow, and just like that I am doubly computer illiterate.

If we put plenty of TSA types out front to act as targets that should give time enough for the good guys to respond.

At the one minute mark in the video is a Texas 30.06 sign (I know, whoever came up with the regulation must have been a funny guy). That sign states that citizens with concealed carry permits may not carry in that place. So the best means of self defense just went out the window because some liberal (expletive deleted) doesn't think licensed citizens should carry.

Interesting video. yeah people should be aware of those options and the video is a great start to being prepared. Although in the fight section, the fellow with the fire extinguisher misused that option. The big fellow should have given that to a smaller person to spray directly into the perps face, blinding him, while the big fellow attacked with another object.

Over my dead body. If I lived in a district that even entertained this idea would have a school board meeting go to (expletive deleted) in the blink of an eye. If they dared to implement or allow such activities would result in there removal from office from the school board, superintendent down to principals before the tardy bell rang.

Then again I wonder how long it would take for parent taking exception to there child being assaulted and removing said pedophile from the gene pool in such a manner that the other pervs would run in fear of there lives.
