    Smarmy Headline:

In the doghouse: TSA puppies panting for local foster homes

    REALLY CUTE PICTURES &

    Pure drivel:
They are cute, frisky, and spirited - just like any other puppy. However, these are no ordinary canines. They are worth thousands of dollars because the Labradors are explosive-detecting dogs that work for the Transportation Security Administration.
The genetically engineered animals are bred and housed at the TSA Canine and Development Program at Lackland Air Force Base.
"All of the dogs who go through training start here in San Antonio," says program head, Scott Thomas.

Hey, I'll take a bomb sniffing dog over Scope 'n Gropes any day. ;)

Naming them after 9/11 victims is , though. Were we continually naming things after people that died at Pearl Harbor in 1951?

It seems to me that many of the recent TSA fluff pieces have been at sites that don't accept comments.

    Uh....I wonder why?
(Oh, duh, silly me...because the comments would likely be anti-fluff...er anti-TSA.)
