San Antonio airport was just evacuated after a bomb threat was called in according to reports. No planes taking off - passengers outside on tarmac with luggage. All flights on stand by. Planes can land but will park away from the terminals and passengers have to remain onboard. (It's 98 degrees there).

    Not fun.

I got stuck in a DL MD-88 pre-bankruptcy when they were trying to pinch pennies. Pushed back at STL, then parked on the tarmac for 45 minutes in 95-degree heat with the engines & APU off while they waited for clearance to proceed to ATL. Those aluminum tubes turn into saunas rather quickly.

Wasn't there another bomb threat @ Denver yesterday? ... described as "non-specific" so all they could do was ramp up LEO staff & try to be alert.

I like saunas. I don't think my fellow passengers would allow my usual state of undress in these circumstances, however.

Seriously what is up with the false flags in the past 10 days

Umm now a days that would end badly for an airline. I would pop a hatch or tail cone and slide my happy butt out.

These days when planes are parked out on the tarmac like that, the airport police often park next to them in case you decide to just that.

3 or 4 years ago I had a UX flight STL-ORD. It was the screwup of all screwups but eventually UX replaced our tundra Jet with a jungle jet & we flew to ORD. Upon landing they couldn't steer it. During the 45 minute wait for a tug, the O'Hare cops were parked right next to us.

(The lesson learned that day is that when you have unrelated end-to-end tickets & UX is responsible for the first one, no margin of time is sufficient to protect you from their incompetence. Fortunately the angel in the NW Lounge changed our tickets free of charge. :) ).
