Even sports stars get molested. These incidents help our argument.

Wonder what "aggressive" actually amount to?

And what is the "proper ID" to clear security. One can fly without ID.

One thing's becoming clear: People's fuses are burning short with TSA. More and more people have had enough of TSA's :trash:, and we're going to be seeing an increasing number of incidents like this as people realize it's "not just me".

Apparently #freeromo is growing as a popular hashtag, as fans react.

I won't quote Nico on the incident.

At the risk of stating the obvious, he's an Aggie.

    Hot off the press:

WLFI: DA declines Romo case in Vegas airport TSA tiff (Feb 4 2013)

Prosecutors in Las Vegas are letting San Francisco Giants pitcher Sergio Romo off the hook in a misdemeanor case stemming from a New Year's Day tiff with Transportation Security Administration agents at McCarran International Airport. An aide to Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson said Monday that a screening panel used prosecutorial discretion to shelve the case.

More detailed quote, in other words, not worth the time & effort to prosecute, or perhaps simply no real case to prosecute.

Being annoyed at TSA is not a crime, as much as they might like for it to be.

ABC Local KGO: Romo won't be charged in Las Vegas incident

The representative said Romo won't be charged due to a "lack of prosecutorial resources." "We simply do not have the manpower or resources to go forward on every case and must weigh the value, provability, and seriousness of each case accordingly," said the representative.

According to the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, officers were called to a security checkpoint at 9 a.m. on January 1 for a person who was being disruptive towards TSA agents. Officers saw Romo in an "agitated posture" with "clenched fists" and "pacing around." Romo was handcuffed until he calmed down and was then issued a misdemeanor citation for "violation of airport rules." The TSA issued a statement saying, " -- a male passenger was unable to provide identification required of travelers at the TSA Document Control station -- airport police noticed the individual engaged in a dispute with a TSA officer and took action." The TSA spokesperson would not say if the male passenger involved was Romo, but sources confirmed Romo's identity to ABC7 News.

Which specific airport "rule" was this misdemeanor citation for? I haven't been able to find it. I'd also like to see the statute or law that gives "airport rules" the force of law for this specific case.

"Disturbing the peace" might have been a better choice, depending on Romo's attorney's hunger for headlines.

Since when are sworn police officers there to enforce "rules"?

What's next? Commit a foul on a basketball court, and get cuffed into timeout?

People with real jobs with real consequences, like this prosecutor, probably have no time for the psuedo security sham of TSA. These folks have real crimes and real criminals to deal with.
