How many stories do we have on assaults on arrival INTO the US?
I have an account of a US citizen returning to SFO, subjected to ball fondling on his way in through customs, with no connecting flight.
I will attempt to get him to repeat his story for our Master list/s.

I'd be interested in hearing more about this. I believe they have to have some grounds for doing this...

I always thought we forfeit all rights when we go through Customs. At least that's my layman's understanding of it. I always said "yes, sir" and "no, sir" and took those guys deadly seriously when I returned from abroad; I knew they could strip-search you in a back room if they wanted to. (And they do; there's a longstanding class action lawsuit brought by black women who, especially if they were traveling alone, were often singled out for humiliation in this way. There was no "cause." I don't remember what happened to the case, if it's over or what).

Makes your blood boil, but yes. This from the Loretta Van Beek case where because she carried a quart of undeclared rasberries, she was strip searched and fondled. Only the fondling was illegal, apparently, if it could be proved:

She was traveling to a vacation home in Georgia. I've now read of several of these cases where someone with a vacation home in the U.S. runs in into a CBP fruitcake at the border, gets abused and sent home. And now they're cut of from their investment in the U.S.

Tell me again why people would want to visit the U.S., let alone buy property here?
