Any crank can -- and will -- make a threatening phone call. As I've said so often, this is our future. Only our future is already here. Every squeak, burp, and fart is now considered potentially "threatening," potential evidence of "terrorism."

Why bother making a real bomb when you can paralyze an airport for the cost of one phone call?

I know of no defense against a bomb threat, real or not. Not reacting and it's a real threat is going to go down badly and reacting on a false threat is aggravating, screws up schedules, and such.

    Truly a no win situation.

The "win situation" would be to go about our lives as normal. To stop letting fear dictate every move.

As I've said till I'm blue in the face, if the Brits had behaved like this during the Blitz, they never would've gotten through it. Instead, while being bombed almost every single night for 9 months straight, they got up every morning, cleared the rubble, mourned their dead, and moved on.

What a difference from the U.S. -- and their own country -- now.
