TSA recently said that PreCheck didn't exempt passengers from screening. Well apparently a little disclosed program does. Seems like a little Congressional investigation may be in order. http://houston.culturemap.com/newsd...al-services-frequent-flyer-on-the-new-united/
No one should have priority for TSA screening. We all pay exactly the same per flight for the privilege of getting assaulted.
When Michelle Bachman came through the other day, she got her own personal xray lane(which was a bit silly since we had only one other passenger coming through at the time). Still had to go through the body scanner though. Same thing for the Beiber. Most other celebrities come through like everyone else. Other people who sometimes get priority are disabled people and active duty military in uniform. Pre Check isn't at my airport so I have no idea what they're talking about.
That tells you everything you need to know about the effectiveness of the TSA. A recognized sitting Congresswoman, who had just been in a presidential race, despite being recognized, is required to do and in fact does the perp leg spread for these goons, and they're proud of it. This is a totally bogus way to do security, screening known non risks and patting themselves on the back for being egalitarian.
Bachman part is a sad commentary but it's all part of the show. Too bad that celebs like Beiber and others don't take a stand (other than posing in the surrender position) against current airport security. Their doing so could go a long way toward swaying some of the AFSers.
Soo....Did you guys count the cash in her wallet/purse to make sure she was carrying not more than the 'proper amount?' Or that she was/wasn't carrying checks in her name, that were in sequential order? Did you verify that the amount of medication she carried matched with the length of her trip? Did some call out 'here comes a hottie?" to warn the screener before she stepped into the MMW? How about swabbing her unused tampons for explosives? How about requiring her to strip down to the last layer of clothes for the MMW? ...like everyone else has to go through.
I'm pretty sure the screener noticed her when she walked in the MMW, why would anyone need to tell him? Incidentally, only a couple of us noticed it was Michelle Bachmann. No one really cared.
I love how these TSA "people", regardless of their role, regardless of the venue, are hellbent on missing the point.
It's built into their job description, right along with "cognitive dissonance" for the rare TSA employee capable of understanding.
"hellbent on missing the point" Dude, it's whole organization's illustrated core practice. The whole reason why there's even a master list.
Seriously. Do you remember in Ghostbusters, when Rick Moranis was possessed by the demon dog or whatever, the crazy conversation they had with him? The one where he said, "Yes, have some?" That's what it feels like to me.
It's this bizarro friendly fascism world. I feel like every time I encounter one of these "people" I hear "These are not the Droids you are looking for." Whoa! Wait..what? Yes, yes they are.
