The new Congressional panel to take up the deficit is co-chaired by my Senator, Patty Murray, who wrote to me on my TSA issue and welcomed contact.

Perhaps there should be an organized effort to inform that process, together with IG, GAO information, to spend more wisely.

My personal opinion on the source of the deficit would be in line with one statement from an opinion piece in the 8/7/11 NYT as well:
At least we can agree on the TSA budget.:)

Would that TSA budget be around ZERO dollars?

It can't hurt to present a roadmap to reeling in the mission-creep-without-end.
Pointing out: obvious contract waste, gaping needs TSA has failed to address, projections of costs (especially) extrapolated into the future. Present: a quick budget/policy/expenditure analysis, an alternative risk analysis, action recommendations.
I don't think abolition would carry the day, but ending passenger torture and obvious waste might.

Surely this has to stop, maybe when the DHS/TSA budget is equal to the current US national debt?
