I have practiced stalls, both accelerated and non-accelerated in Cessna's and the stall break can be rather abrupt. In a power on stall the nose attitude was uncomfortable for me.

In the P-3 the aircraft goes into what is termed stall buffet and it was a noticeable event. The airplane gives the pilot time to recover before reaching full stall. The flight manual prohibited practicing full stalls so all I ever experienced was stall buffet but would guess it would be an exciting event.

The sky over where I live is a practice area (don't know if it's for all pilots or stunt pilots). I cringe where I hear stalls being forced.

Wouldn't worry to much, pilots practicing stalls aren't likely to threaten anyone on the ground. It's just a matter of learning what the airplane is doing and how to handle the airplane.
