Stop and Frisk is Terrifying

Mark my words, if stop and frisk doesn't stop soon, one of the victims will cap an "officer." It's only a matter of time. Someone will realize that the severity of their recurring nightmares will be substantially alleviated with a single well placed bullet to their perverted assailant's brain. It amazes me that it hasn't happened yet. Crimes such as assault with sexual battery are dangerous to commit and foolhardy to permit, much less encourage or mandate. Care to guess how many stop and frisk victims have military sniper training? The people who dreamed up stop and frisk were simply not thinking straight.

Good New Yorkers don't own any capping tools. :(

There are 239 New Yorkers for every NYPD pig. When the population ceases to consent to be governed, and abused, let the riots begin.

They need an officer for every 239 residents? That makes absolutely no sense. I think I know where their taxes are going. That's bonkers.

When you get as much money from DHS as NY does, you need to show "results."

Several of the commenters to the article sum up my thoughts as well -- do not give explanations to the police. Ask them why you are being stopped. If they have no articulable reasonable suspicion, ask if you are being detained and whether you are free to go. That's it. If the police continue with the improper search, sue them. Pronto.

I know it's easy for me to say that - but knowing and exerting our rights will be the thing that helps. Cops know that most people don't know their rights and are able to intimidate people from the get go.

when normally law abiding citizens such as yourself, express these type of opinions, it tells me the police are losing the backup from the citizens. If they keep up this behavior, one day the crowds will gather and they will look around in vain for a friendly face. We've seen the end game in eastern bloc countries. Off come the uni's and guns, and out they slip through the back doors and alleys.

I agree, but the seeds of revolt/revolution were planted long ago and all it was waiting was for the conditions to be right to sprout and grow forth strong and hardy to over come the forces of evil...That time is getting close if the catalyst hasnt put things in motion already.

I dont think they will be able to slip away that easily. In this day and age of tracking information down just not going to happen easily.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the fall of East Germany -- note the joy on the faces of the people storming Stasi headquarters. That day will come here, too.

I still can't get over the ratio of pigs to people. What can possibly justify such an overwhelming occupation of an American city?

If the ratio of pigs to people is so ridiculous, then how many jail guards and court employees are there? What's the true ratio of police state employees to decent citizens? Do New Yorkers know what they're up against? Frankly, I would move. I am a chicken at heart. I would want nothing to do with the coming storm.

We are truly slaves, when the fruits of our labors go to support such a large oppressor class. The police state employees might as well be overseers. Bloomberg has got to be the creepiest mayor in America.

that 239 ratio cannot possibly be all front-line on duty cops. That stat is probably stuffed exceedingly with friends and family on the PD payroll and other office flotsam and jetsam.

I sincerely hope so. This is tax money down the drain, at a time when Americans can ill afford this type of waste.

The ratio is based on the number of uniformed NYC police officers -- 34,500 according to the NYPD.

Here is an example of the kind of government waste and fraud that can occur when a fascist sack of filth like Bloomberg assembles his own army:

Bloomberg's creeps haven't caught a single terrorist. A fortune has been squandered and all standards of human decency have been ignored.

We can't afford to permit government everywhere to grow to this size. NYC with its ridiculous army of creeps and thugs should serve as a warning to the entire nation. If this cancer grows then the U.S. will become uninhabitable.

The presumptuous jerks also sent their operators into New Jersey without the knowledge or cooperation of any police agencies or other officials in New Jersey.

For the most part they lost backup a long time ago. Even old people who were formerly badge lickers are seeing the light. And unlike the STASI, they won't be able to ditch the uniforms, as too many people know who they are.
