Apparently the untrainable hadn't learned how to use their "new" equipment yet. Syracuse Post-Standard: Syracuse airport offers $150 to travelers who missed flights today because of new security checkpoint (May 15 2013) Air travelers didn't have much time this morning to relax in the new rocking chairs at Syracuse Hancock International Airport. Delays at a new security checkpoint that opened today caused a backup that forced about 40 passengers to miss their flights."We had a few glitches this morning,'' said Aviation Commissioner Christina Callahan. "Tomorrow will be better.''The new centralized security area confused some passengers, who tried to go through the old checkpoints that are now closed. And federal security personnel, who have been trained on the new equipment but are not yet accustomed to using it, took extra time to screen passengers, Callahan said.
