Fine. Show me the evidence that makes you believe that actual safety testing has been performed on the MMW scanner, since that's what you now claim to be limiting your statement to.

Good grief, now I have to read it for you and spoonfeed you, as well?

Seems to answer my previous question rather succinctly, if somewhat obliquely.

"I went up to the lady and I said, 'I am a type one diabetic. I wear an insulin pump. I showed her the pump. I said, what do you want me to do? I usually do a pat down — what would you recommend?'"

...at which time the idiot TSA employee pointed at the body scanner and insisted it was safe. Because they're an idiot.

I guess debating a topic means I have to agree with everything you claim, or else you need to "spoonfeed it to me". I can't possibly just disagree with you on something....

    How is that coercion?

As soon as I see evidence of testing, I'll report right back to you sir.

I have no idea what you're disagreeing with me about, because all you did in that comment was ask me to summarize an article you can read yourself.

When she shows them a letter saying "Don't go through the scanners" and they insist that the scanners are perfectly safe, go on, go through them, I call that coercion under color of authority - mostly because the poor girl actually thought the TSA knew anything useful by dint of having a uniform and a badge.

I'm quite sure she's learned her error, and will not trust anyone working for the TSA in the future. So while it may have been an expensive lesson, the pump manufacturer footed the bill for it.

So you admit you've been repeating statements for which you have not one iota of supporting evidence?

The TSA refused to provide an actual machine to be used by an allegedly independent party for testing.

    Documents obtained by EPIC:

    http://www.propublica.org/article/u...ancer-concerns-as-it-rolled-out-airport-x-ray

Pistole told Congress the TSA would have backscatter tested; then less than two weeks later, he backtracked and said that further testing was not warranted.

No, the TSA has not tested these machines for safety.

when someone asks what they want them to do, or what they recommend and they follow that person's recommendation that isn't coercion. I know yo like to throw in "insisting" as if characterizing the tsa "clerk's" responce as something more than answering her questions would make it coercion, but it doesn't. I realize you have the need to characterize everything anyone in the TSA does as this wholly evil abomination, so that's why you're insisting on calling it coercion, but it just doesn't hold water with people who haven't drunken the koolaid on this website.

I think the only thing she's learned is that if you make a big stink about something, you get free stuff and people talk about you.

It would seem you skipped over my previous response to you. I'll copy/paste for your benefit:

"You could make the case that I've been fed false information since I haven't actually seen the testing done to the scanners prior to use..."

    She was coerced.

No, I read it. I'm making the case that you haven't been fed false information - you're just making stuff up, or as one might put it, "lying."

Oh they haven't? Then the "further" testing that wasn't necessary means that they've never been tested?

Yep, that's all the girl wanted -- free stuff and people to talk about her. She was tired of that old insulin pump anyway. Wanted to trade up for a newer, trendier model.

Then your question "So you admit you've been repeating statements for which you have not one iota of supporting evidence" is disingenuous.
