So noted the Judge Zagel in Blago's sentencing for his Pay To Play effort:
Interesting column in the Chicago Trib.
As I reflected on such a sentencing, context being a government steeped in corruption, I wondered: Was his 'crime' the ruining it for others with his over-the-top, crude deal-making? Getting attention, getting caught?

Is IL ready to declare victory over corruption?:

    Don't drop the soap!

two consecutive governors imprisoned for corruption, and a city famed for it, they could probably round up every pol in that state and stick them in the same cell as ol Roddy...

I'm totally in favor of Blago's sentence. I'd like to see similar sentences handed down to all the crooks who've sunk the economy and who won't be happy until it's entirely destroyed (with their assets protected, of course) -- which day is coming. But I know they'll never see justice.

My impression of SF is that the high profile ones who have been prosecuted or removed were the ones that did their dirty deeds only without the requisite good taste.

Electeds asking for money in paper-bags are jailed.
But the recent ballot-tampering, and nearly 100% returns in Chinatown, are passing footnotes in the history of a Mayor hand-picked by an agent of the Chinese government, where the red flag flies over SF.

Judge Zagel admonished voters. It's going to take a lot more than voting, but I would too; anyone who is serious about the TSA can't sit on the sidelines and be pure and hold out for some candidate who crystalizes all their personal opinions. If you like what you see at the TSA: don't vote, vote for Obama, vote for Newt, vote for Romney...
