USA Today: The next airline fee: Paying more to get off a plane faster?

    But note:

Interesting enough, the largest & longest-profitable airline (Southwest -- never in bankruptcy!) has no change fees and only charges for 3+ & overweight bags.

You'd think other airlines might be smart enough to take a cue from this?

    Nah ....

This kinda makes me wonder if WN is going to be the one to step up to the plate for pax rights. If the other airlines keep tanking it's good for WN's business. If they're the only one left, though, it's going to be their turn to tank once TSA has poisoned all their competition and has only them left to ruin.

I get the impression that WN's corporate culture would lend itself better than the others to taking political action to force TSA back, but then I'm not 100% up to date on the other factors that may influence that either. I know airlines don't have to pay for security now (because there is no security *rimshot*) but surely the savings from that would eventually be outweighed by Amtrak eating Southwest's lunch.
