WTG Mike! And I just want everyone to know that my laptop is back from the shop and the "d" key is acting up, which really stinks because there's a "d" in my password. Apologies if I skip over a "d" once in a while until I get whatever is under there dislodged...
I hate it when a small crumb gets lodged under the keyboard. I've tried to pull off keys in the past, but they don't always want to go back on
I just got awarded the first message trophy. I'll have you know that I need no stinking trophies. I was talking to my son this past weekend about Weiner and all the facebook stuff and suggested that it eventually it will get back to the way it was, because everybody will have a pecadillo and it will once again for kids be considered part of growing up. (Weiner is not included in that group).
I was eating a juicy strawberry and working on my computer when the strawberry squirted all over my keyboard - I had sticky keys for-ev-er and was constantly typing nnn bbb vvvvvv until finally just got a new computer.
Depends on the keyboard. If you're rocking a Model M, then yeah, you can actually put the entire thing in the dishwasher. Other keyboards you have to take the keys off and wash them in a mesh bag, cleaning the keyboard with alcohol wipes and the like. If your keyboard uses the rubber membrane switches I would strongly advise against putting it in the dishwasher unless you can run a cold/warm (not hot) cycle and make sure not to use heated-dry.
No dry at all and definitely on cold/warm regardless. If you can wash it let air dry. Google links to a lot of useful information.
Dried soda can be removed with warm soda, preferably the same as what dried on it in the first place. Rinse well with water to display the fresh soda then do an alchol spritz to get the water. Air dry. Many years ago worked as a bench tech for a test equipment mfg. Had to use that one several times.
Now that I've found it, I don't even remember why I was looking for this thread, but I want my hour back.
