Well, well, you could have knocked me over with a feather.

How convenient that these "experts" who say that Yemen and the like need body scanners have a financial stake in selling said scanners.

TSA seems to be very busy sending out spokesholes to assure us that the WBI would have seen an anomaly and that would have thwarted the attack. I imagine that anyone who opts out will be thorough poked and prodded in the future.

But don't despair - TSA will f**k something up again very shortly.

There are several areas on, around, and frankly in, the body that the TSA's junkatrons can't see. Without even seeing this device I'm about 93% certain TSA would've missed it had he flown from a US airport through a body scanner.

Of course this raises the following question: Suppose a suicide bomber thinks he can elude AIT and he is indeed caught at the checkpoint. Then what?

You guys have seen the latest, right? Pardon me if this is already in another thread:

Why should we believe these statements . . .
. . . when they told us the same (expletive deleted) about Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, which turned out to be (expletive deleted):
Look, I have no doubt someone can come up with a bomb to fit somewhere that can do all kinds of things. I get it. But we can't defend ourselves from Every Single Thing In The World. This constant hyping of a state of fear is insane.

So what the (expletive deleted) are they gonna do now? Prod and poke people's surgery scars (which they've already done, as I've documented in my Master List)?? Further grope and paw and humiliate people?? Rip open stitches?? Remove casts from limbs??

I still take note that AFAIK Pissy still has not said word one about this, which I believe is a portent. Nappy was in a segment on the news last night but she didn't really say much....all the focus was on Brennan's comments and King's spew.

Been a whole lot of quietness over at TSA. Bagdad Bob seems to have dropped off the face of the earth, Pistole seems to have gone into hiding. I don't know who the Assistant Administrator is but nothing is coming out of senior TSA staff. Just the typical comments for various TSA spokesholes who seem to have a limited vocabulary. I wish Rugape would give us an idea of what is going on over their but he seems to only comment in threads that do not involve TSA. I'm thinking the fat is in the fire at TSA.

Isn't Rossides still the Assistant Administrator?

As expected, Glenn Greenwald is also ripping the govt's plot -- and the sensationalist coverage -- to shreds:

"Rip open stitches?? Remove casts from limbs??"

At one point I would chuckled but thus far that we have now come ....I'm wondering. I really do.

As I've already documented, people have indeed been forced to remove casts, to have their surgery scars prodded, while being threatened with DYWTFT?

There is apparently a 70% chance that TSA would have missed the bomb even if it was packed in a carry-on and labeled bomb.
