It won't be over until the TSA is disbanded.

It's not over. We win tiny victories here and there, but the TSA continues to exist as a parasitic scourge. Every penny wasted on this agency is tax money stolen from worthwile endeavors. The vast majority of their activities are crimes. Sadly, most Americans have come to believe that crimes committed by the government aren't illegal. Of course they are, but prosecuting a government agency or agent is no easy task.

I still think we need to repurpose Gitmo, well actually it wouldn't change, still a place to keep terrorist.

  3. Oh man. I've never heard about this level of abuse at ANC, and here I am, forced to plan a trip to take the kids to see a dying relative in California in a couple months. I hate having to travel with the assumption that we may have to just stay home, or even worse, get stuck somewhere far from home.

ANC used to be just fine. The introduction of scanners really seems to turn checkpoints sour. Hopefully it's because the clerks are taking all kinds of heat from the travelers coming through and they're getting all bitter. It's true -- sucks to be us up here, realistically unable to drive when we need to get out of the state.

I agree, but I hope the "heat" they're taking is nothing less than unrestrained verbal evisceration and condemnation of their very (lack of) worth as human beings in ANY spheres of their lives, both in the airport and outside of it. And I hope it sees them developing serious health problems, chemical dependencies, patterns of self-injury or self-mutilation and contemplations of suicide.

Nothing would make me happier than to hear that, 10 years from now, there's a sudden rash of suicides or institutionalizations of former TSA clerks as PTSD catches up with them and they realize that every pax who ever screamed in their face, called them subhuman filth undeserving of basic human rights or dignity, or flat-out accused them of child rape was absolutely morally right in doing so and that they (the TSA clerks-not-officers-not-agents) actually deserved every last ounce of verbal abuse slung at them.

I'd sleep like a goddamn baby that night.

Oh, (expletive deleted) no. They don't get to go to a garden spot like Gitmo. We need to reopen a few of those Japanese Internment Camps right here in CONUS.

No need to rebuild the fences, just paint a deadline and ask for volunteers with deer rifles. We should get plenty.
