Want to bet it's the same story at all TSA sites?

If I recall correctly we've had similar reports in just the last few days out of Atlanta, SeaTac, and Pit. In each case TSA seems unwilling to compensate travelers.

Earlier reports of widespread TSA Theft seem on target.

TSA is likely unwilling to do any real investigations since doing so will implicate more criminal activity within TSA.

That's OK. Some of the TV News people are doing their own investigations. Should be interesting. And amusing, if they find another TSA employee stupid enough to stand on his porch saying he knows nothing about the iPad that's blaring its siren inside his house...

...and the TSA propaganda machine has already started, courtesy of Spokeshole John Allen...

I read this to say that if the conscientious clerk doesn't put a notice of inspection inside the bag, the TSA, by definition, never opened it. This is beyond BS.

Edit: A thousand apologies for not crediting one of our own with a huge comment that the TV station actually posted.

Yep. I'll bet there are many locations at ATL where baggage and TSA employees mingle without benefit of the passengers or cameras to keep an eye on them.

How many ways to flag a bag for theft by someone outside of camera view? The bigger problem that TSA has refused to address is that if these unscreened workers can take things out of bags then they can also put contraband of any kind in bags.

So if I wanted to take down a plane would I take my self out or enlist crooked TSA/airport workers of which they are plenty?

Just how bleeping stupid are TSA employees?

Almost as stupid as the people who believe the TSA is useful.

What are the chances that, if I type "so full of :trash: his eyes are brown" in the search line, Google would return a picture of John Allen?

  11. Besides the fact that there must be space off camera for these thefts to occur, I have to ask -- how can they know by video which bag is which? Many bags do look alike. These bag checks should all be done in the presence of the owner, no exceptions. I don't care if they don't have the space. That's their problem to figure out, not ours.

And once that is done, the liability for missing property reverts to the airlines.
