How do you fix a broken institution? Here's one way. This is what I think the TSA needs. Common decency is lacking within the TSA. This is a top to bottom problem. Everyone should be fired. The rank and file should be considered for re-hire only after the TSA's culture has been re-written.

I know, it sounds cruel. It's also necessary. The TSA must reflect the best values of Federal service.

The difference between TSA and what happened at Miramonti Elementary School is that the L.A. school superintendent had an entire county-wide school district full of teachers and staff that could be brought in.

I don't see how DHS could do that with TSA unless maybe they swap personnel with ICE & CBP: Give TSA guns & send them to the borders (CBP) and factories (ICE) looking for illegals, and put ex CBP & ICE people to work in the airports checkout people's crotches. That would improve things only to the extend that TSA's lard asses collapse in the desert heat chasing down illegals.

Just shut it down as quickly as airports can supply their own screening personnel. We don't need any more "professionalized" federal solutions.

Yeah, that doesn't happen much. Mostly they just park themselves on well-traveled highways and hold ex-governors out in the heat because they've recently undergone radioactive medical procedures.
