Crack and Crystal Meth are two reasons why I'm against the war on drugs. When we had alcohol prohibition we ended up with bathtub gin using lead-soldered pipe and the mafia. Same results now.

Oh, and did you know that if you tell cops you're a diabetic they're trained to assume you're lying?

Unlikely, unless the cooker's been wearing a full bodysuit and respirator during the cooking process.

I've got a couple of cousins and other friends in law enforcement, and meth houses rank somewhat lower on the scale of "places they'd like to go" than domestic violence cases.

Bu-whaa? I'm assuming this is related to carrying syringes for insulin injections, but...why would they assume you're lying?

Their story is that junkies always claim to be diabetic when arrested. So if you tell a cop you're diabetic and he asks if you're a Type 3 or 4, he just called you a liar.

Funny the things you learn who you take a "Clandestine Drug Lab Awareness" CME.

Frank -- agree on both points. Tweakers are the calls I really hate and keep me on my toes as there unpredictable, I'll roll PD or SO to secure the scene; then I will have one ride if I have to transport. Haldol and versed are medics best friend.

As for the diabetic thing yeah it must be something they teach in the academy. It pisses me off when they do it because 90% of diabetics with issues couldn't harm a fly let alone a jelly donut stuffed cop. First couple of times I thought it was the person attacking the cops. Then I heard one spout the type 3 or 4 and called (expletive deleted) on the cop. That was about the time I noticed a pattern and I started pushing back. I ended up having to report incidents to the state and calling the officers out on scene on their own dash cams & recorders. Only then did the officers back off crap like this as they knew if they kept it up the state & Feds would start looking into things, and doing certification reviews. Most cops are good but it's the minority that taint the majority.
