A form letter to me gives the impression it wasn't read and was at most scanned for keywords. In the past, every time I've contacted anyone about the TSA, I get a general "Thank you for contacting me, I appreciate your concern. The TSA is..." and then they basically go on to tell me the stated mission of the TSA, as if I didn't know, and usually extol the TSA's virtues. They give me the feeling they didn't even read my letter. This does not give me that impression. Perhaps it is indeed a template, but at least I feel I was given due attention and that makes me pretty pleased. My other senator never even sent me a canned reply.

I think communicating with local offices of your representatives will yield better results.

It's certainly not like what I get from one of my jackass Senators, Menedez by name:

The clown has been sending this or a similar version for close to 4 years now!

BTW, if anyone else lives in the Garden State, Joe Kryillos will be challenging Menenedez this fall. I am going to contact Kryillos in an attempt to discern his position regarding the TSA.

That's almost exactly what I've gotten in the past from my reps when contacting them about TSA. It might even be verbatim. John Boozman is new, so I'm very pleased to see better from him.

P.S. Recently I posted to the blog but it never showed up.

It wasn't until I posted again asking why as my comment was not violative of the TOS that my initial post finally appeared.

A drunk official is a harmless official. Awfully hard to sign oppressive legislation when you're sloshed off your (expletive deleted) and can't see straight.
