Note that he was arrested at the airport, even though the alleged acts did not occur at the airport. Depending on where the arrest occurred (parking lot or terminal), this could have required additional steps, such as notification to the local security director, that would not have been necessary in the case of an arrest at the residence.

I suggest that there is at least a possibility that this was done out of law enforcement concern about the interaction the suspect may have been having with children at the airport during the course of his employment.

Not another pervert in the TSA?! Say it isn't so.

By all means though, tell the little kids that they can keep their shoes on, great improvement.

A quick selection from the TSA Master List reveals that this is the seventh screener arrested in less than a year for sex crimes including three others for rapes or attempted rapes of minors and one child pornographer.

There are only two responses to this that make any sense:
    1. In any organization of 50,000 people, you are going have a few sex offenders.
    2. In no organization other than TSA are children forced to submit to having nude images of themselves inspected, or their bodies groped, or both.

In any organization of 50,000 people, you are going have a few sex offenders.

This will be the TSA excuse but Microsoft has 84,000 employees and only had one arrested in 2010. It was a guy in Japan on a minor incident.

There have been 44 TSA screeners arrested in the last nine months and the agency remains on pace for 70 crimes in 2011. I can't think of any organization, public or private, with a comparable level of criminal conduct, with the possible exception of Congress and the Executive branch.

They can't be caught for this while on duty. They get paid to feel over juveniles' genitals and buttocks because they work for TSA.
