TSA Fail: FBI guy explains why TSA is useless
I see nothing surprising in that account. TSA screeners are so poorly educated and so poorly trained that using their own brains to think something through results in things like that described. Examples of this kind of reasoning are all over TSA, x ray units that have to highlight in certain colors what the software believes is a threat is a good example.
I know. We just have to keep repeating, and repeating, and repeating this info. And it helps when someone else does it, especially someone with more credentials in the public eye than people like you and me. Maybe someone will stumble across the site and take his account as more credible because he was an FBI agent specializing in counterterrorism.
Heh, I've been saying that for years. Just watch any of the documentary shows about life in prison.
The sad thing about N965VJ's quote above is that TSA reasoning seems to be, "but this isn't a high security prison. We're just trying to keep you safe."
""but this isn't a high security prison."
What's the difference these days? we're search and treated like it's one, our rights are pretty much at their 'discretion.' The only difference is slowly becoming only the orange jumpsuit.
OMG that ex-FBI blogger, son of 70's UA Security Mgr, has more cred than the entire 60K TSA workforce put together. OK, that's not saying much. But what an indictment! I'm asking mil friends to post his link widely.
They were actually following policy precisely, according to the leaked 2009 SOP. Stupidity flows down from the top.
