I don't know how to embed a video so this is the best I can do. This video is almost 30 minutes long. Some of it I had trouble hearing - probably an age thing. The video is very detailed about this guy's experience and the TSA did cooperate with the person who had the camera so they caught everything. From what I can understand they were camping and some sort of residue showed up on his items and person. About 17 minutes in the supervisor gives him his "options" which turn out to basically be only one if he wants to get on a plane. The conversations between the camera person and the passenger being detained is very interesting.

Interesting video. The TSA clerks were fairly reasonable, if you could call performing such an act on people reasonable, feeling their sex organs based on a 100% bad results test. And then making them go through the scanner. That's brain dead. None of them looked too bright, even the suit. Did you see in the background where one young lady had her hair in a small bun and the female clerk put gloves on and did a search just on that? That's all she searched. Welcome to prison!

I missed that. Although on Twitter many others have complained about having to have only their hair searched - the majority of them women. I was pretty sure up until the end this guy was going to refuse any scanner. But, as usual, the TSA pulls out the "big guns" - do what we want or you don't get to fly today. Also complaints about their checked baggage being inspected and clothes just thrown around and items with lids not secured after the inspection which causes the contents to be spilled over everything. One woman bought 3 yo-yo's all the same, just different colors, on a business trip as a gift for her son. One made it, two were stolen. I'm going to guess most who complain on Twitter never fill out a complaint form.

Quite honestly, I am not going to watch a 30 minute video. Is it safe to assume that he did not have to go to a private room? Was the pat down done with the back or front of the hand?

Wasn't given the option of a pat down - was told either go through the AIT or don't fly - although at one point when he resisted going through either machine the supervisor said there may be other options but he wasn't sure what they would be but one option was definitely not flying. The supervisor was on his cellphone talking to someone a lot and went in another area when he was talking on the phone. If you start the video about 17 minutes in you'll hear the supervisor tell him what his options are. The bottom line is the guy chose to go through the machine.

That is a terroristic threat and depending on the jurisdiction assault; both of which warrant calling the smurf out and calling 911. BTDT I refuse to cower to cowards.

yeah. check the exact wording the suit uses: "if you go through the scanner, you'll be ALLOWED TO FLY TODAY". That's right, we control you, don't even think about it.

    putz. every one of them.

  9. Oh, they were so looking for pot on that guy! Did you see the screener pause as he unrolled a ziploc baggie? Oooh, a hippy-ish guy with somewhat shaggy hair, this could be our big catch! What goons. I'm so glad they didn't find any on him.

Thanks. I must have "mixed and matched" two separate threads.

No, I didn't mix and match. I took it from nachtnebel's comment:

that the guy had been subjected to a grope also.

Sounded to me like the suit believes the lie that the scanner can pick up explosives.

So this isn't Manchester, England, right? It's Manchester, Vermont?

Other than that, this is yet more proof, of which we've already had an abundance, that the strip-search scanners are being used as primary screening. People are being forced into them, which was always the intention (she says, blue in the face  ).

    Isn't it sad?

I mean, really, if the damn things could detect explosives, they would have.

They don't. That people working with them day after day buy into the bs proves the caliber of mental midgets the agency employs.

And from what I'm reading on Twitter some TSA's are telling passengers the backscatter scanners use radio waves and are perfectly safe.

In the first part of the video, they detect "residue" on the ETD swab on the man in the red t-shirt, and take him to private screening to fondle his testicles and rub his anus. The video guy was told he could not video that. So instead he videos the large goon pawing through his friends belongings on the table while his friend is molested. On top of this, his friend is then required to go through AIT, although it looks like it was the ATR mmw. That was stupid, given the fact they'd already fondled his body.

If that is happening, it is incorrect, the MMW operates on radio waves, the XBR does not. I would be interested in finding out which airports this is being reported at, any info on where this is supposed to be going on? (I can look through twitter feeds as well, just if you have locations it would speed the process up some).

Seriously: how stupid are these "people"?

If the junkatron finds something, then they "resolve" it with a groping.

So, in this case they grope him, and then send him through the junkatron for a resolution?

    WTH does that prove?

But at the end of the day, you don't have any personal information about it, so eh? what can you do, right?

I can forward the information up my chain of command so that it can (hopefully) be addressed properly.
