Government investigators smuggled liquid explosives and detonators past airport security, exposing a dangerous hole in the nation’s ability to keep these forbidden items off of airplanes, according to a report made public Wednesday.

If I'm reading the article correctly this test happened several years ago and was only recently released. It seems that TSA's agreement to use more visible and invasive screening methods brought on the advent of their current strip and grab policies.

Too bad those are also woefully flawed.

Wish I had my laptop out right now to do a proper reply ... Ellen Howes' comment about only testing one layer of security is ajoke -- They got the components for an IED onto a plane.

TSA FAILED. Period. Screw the baklava crap.

It doesn't matter how many layers of security baklava the TSA puts in place when they staff every layer with morons, thugs, and layabouts.
