It's "clerks," Jim. Shame that someone that high up in the organization can't even get the employees' rank right.

And I've known junkies with higher professional and ethical standards than TSClerks.

They probably won't succeed, since what a government employee does on his own time is protected by the first amendment. There might be some gray area here if his FB page focused much on his employment with TSA, but basically the government has an uphill battle to get rid of him.

This is an area where contract screeners have a big advantage.

Does Bob Seashols still have his job?

On April 10, Bob Seashols, a Coordination Center Officer for the Transportation and Security Administration (TSA) at the Richmond International Airport (RIC) and an administrator for Atheists United’s Facebook page, took part in a coordinated effort to populate pornographic images, extreme profanity, and sexually explicit anti-Christian hate-speech on the Facebook page of Ken Ham, an internationally known Christian ministry leader

Ugh. That makes me ashamed to call myself an atheist. Ham's a blowhard but that doesn't justify spamming him with pr0n and harassing him on facebook (of all the inane places to do it).

Way to shoot the secular movement in the foot, jackass.

Oh, wait, TSA employee. What did I seriously expect?

What's baffling me more and more is the minimalist approach the government has taken in cleaning up TSA's public face. So far we've had the disappearance of VIPR, the cessation of the shoe carnival for kids (scope-n-grope alive and well, however, for those selfsame kids) and Trusted Travesty which promises to sometimes maybe kinda-sorta if we feel like it if your skin isn't too brown exempt you from certain forms of screening...if you pay us for it. No guarantees, void where prohibited, some restrictions may apply.

I mean...that's IT? Thefts continue unabated, we have fusterclucks like Seashols and now this guy publicly antagonizing people over religion for the world to see, and they're still recruiting on goddamn pizza boxes, thus guaranteeing a continued influx of troglodytes capable of perpetuating this pattern of stonking ridiculous abuses of not only the public trust, but common sense as well. And all that's done are individual and sparse terminations, minor policy changes (which are mere ghosts of earlier several-times-broken promises like no more gropes for kids), and the pervasive notion that all that's being done is lip service, just enough to get the PR storms to die down.

Okay, yeah, that's par for the course for TSA, but is NOBODY higher up in the government getting sick of being made out to look like a fool by this circus of morons? I'm surprised Obama himself hasn't at least said "Keep securing our airports, but would you kindly stop being such complete fucktards about it?"

I'm painfully aware that "same as the old boss" is in full effect with BHO as compared to GWB, but I'd think any president would get sick of presiding over such an unmitigated embarrassment.

There are no higher ups in TSA smart enough to know that they not only look like fools but are fools.
