Long story with two issues, but apparently an MSP screener refused to let a Tanzanian-bound college intern board because of a mythical "24-hour no-fly list".

Christopher Elliott: Who’s responsible for my missed connection?

Sounds like he got SSSS'd and the power-tripping piece of TSA :trash: decided to overstep his authoritah by not allowing him to clear security.

His other stumbling block was that the ticket (despite segments on United) had been pushed by Orbitz to Ethiopian, which had done the actual ticketing and was more than a bit stubborn in facilitating the rebooking.

These thugs are out of control.

(Oops -- sorry, we already knew that.)

I know MSP well enough that I simply would have taken one of my duplicate boarding passes (I always print at least 3) and headed for a different checkpoint, but you can't expect a college kid from Iowa to know the ropes & be familiar with the airport layout.

And if people read the post, they'll see that the kid did nothing wrong. He's a seasoned traveler. He's been to Africa before. It's amazing to me all the high-and-mighty blowhards in the comments at Chris's blog who claim they know better, would do better, etc. This constant attempt to excuse the abject stupidity, arrogance, lying, and abusive behavior of the TSA. Not to mention the airlines who left him in the lurch.

We've traced her IP to Palo Alto. She has in the past made comments under the moniker "Lisa Sux." I always ignored her before, believing that not feeding the trolls is the best tactic. This time it was too close to my real name, but in hindsight I wish I'd still ignored it. Chris deleted it and banned her anyway. Until she shows up with a new email address.
