How long can the President and Congress ignore the press and the people on this issue? Surely it can't be forever, can it?

Congress and the President are all dysfunctional. Expect little help from the hill.

I consider any money given to the TSA or its "employees" as "squandered."

“We have soundly beat them back every year and plan to do that again this year,” said Sharon Pinkerton, vice president of government affairs at the Air Transport Association. “Part of our success is people’s frustrations with the growth of the TSA.

Baloney. The only thing the ATA cares about is the short sighted bottom line of it's member airlines. Your former boss, James C. May, is on record stating the cost of security should be borne by the government.

Screening should be carried out by private contractors an paid for by the airlines, just like before 9/11. Oversight of the process should be done by the FAA. When this is done, all the silly security theatre will disappear. There's no way someone like Jeff Smisek, UA CEO, would foot the bill for groping or Behavior Detection voodoo.

    This cracked me up:
The economy's not recovering. These people are living in dreamland.

I saw a news article last week stating that AA was cutting its fall and winter schedule by 3% because of reduced bookings.
