I know that Blogger Bob will claim proper procedures were followed, that's the only response TSA has, but I have to ask, does TSA have any adults on the payroll?

Disgusting. Disgusting. They not only targeted this child for abuse at the checkpoint, they went after her again, at the gate, and insisted she return to the checkpoint.

Hello??? Is anyone listening out there?? The TSA is criminal. The TSA assaults people. Every person reading this who defends the TSA is (expletive deleted). Apologies to that necessary organic compound.

It would seem that the TSA hires only people with OCPD = Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder. Those types of people can not deviate from the rule book at all. All rules are made to be followed and no one is allowed to deviate.

In addition, many would also seem to suffer from the disorder - the name of which I cannot recall - in which they choose jobs that allow them to act out their aggressive desires in a legal manner.

Nah, TSA also hires thieves, murderers, drug dealers, rapists, child porn users, pedophiles and all other manner of non-desirable creatures.

    New heights in TSA lows.
I thought last week was bad. This week is unbelievable.
What's next? Are they going to murder a blind widow with six children? Sadly, some a**holes would try to defend them if they did.

And now -- predictably -- they're publicly defending the groping of the 4-year-old girl -- the mother even claims that they wanted to take the child into a room alone -- how long before they issue a press release defending what they did to this 7-year-old girl?

And still the sheeple put up with it. Still they support the TSA. I don't know what has to happen, I really don't. Child molestation is okay with these people. Sexual assault is okay with these people. Getting robbed blind is okay with these people. This country is so far gone.

The people ARE NOT putting up with it. The drumbeats are getting louder and louder. Pistole will end up like Lon Horiuchi or worse.

As long as people are flying when they don't have to, they're putting up with it.

About how far in advance do people plan vacations? It's been about 18 months since scope-n-grope started and less since public backlash really ramped into high gear. It might be that the discretionary air travel we're seeing now is the last remnants of vacation packages planned out a year ahead of time, and people just aren't planning any more plane travel. I realize that part of this is wishful thinking and I know people who personally think that either I'm overreacting or that TSA are the good guys, but the biggest dropoff in air travel may be yet to come.

Good point. The Reign of Molestation was implemented nationwide on November 1, 2010. But it had already been "tested" at Las Vegas and Boston beginning in January of that year. Since there was so little -- or no -- pushback at the test airports, it was rolled out everywhere else. (I've said this before, but it bears repeating: historically, abusive/right-busting procedures have always been "tested" on a small scale first to see what the populace would put up with, e.g. the Japanese-American internment camps during WWII.)

Vacations are typically planned 8-12 months in advance. CelticWhisper brings up a good point I hadn't really considered.

The leisure traveler is the least likely to be aware of these abuses, and the most likely to support them. They probably weren't even aware of them until earlier this year. That means we may be seeing the end of these plannings. There will always be those who think it won't happen to them, but more and more people are going to shy away from advance booking.

Interestingly I was going to post some thoughts that certain airlines I know are going through a second round of voluntary separations, and the golden egg being offered this time around is much, much shinier than it was this time last year. That tells me that airline forecasts are waaaaaaaaaaaaay down in spite of rosy predictions to the contrary...

I don't know how much longer Team Sexual Assualt can maintain their current status without some significant pushback from the citizens of this country.

Certainly seems that Team Sexual Assault has recently focused their disgusting acts yo young children.

barbell, I encouraged readers at The Atlantic to join TUG for precisely this inside info on the airlines:

We've just recently read, in one thread here (well maybe not here, 'cause I can't find it), of a flyer who knew about the grope in theory but it wasn't until she experienced it, that she was converted. Until these people suffer at the hands of the TSA, literally, it's still an uphill battle.

I believe you're thinking of vaginas...

What's TSA for Vagina? right here at our very own TUG.

We usually purchased our "real" vacations (as opposed to mileage run weekends & FT DO's) up to 11 months ahead. The conventional wisdom (no longer necessarily true) is that the earlier you buy, the cheaper the tickets will be.
