Apparently racial profiling prohibition only applies to those of middle eastern descent.

So since EWR BDOs targeted Latinos, SEA decides to focus on African Americans.
Great piece to use in the reverse incrementalism strategy.

    ...And after she was imaged.
I'd like to see "poofs" in the SOP.

The poor woman has gotten her generic reply from TSA by now, and been dragged through the online-mud. If you don't think there's racism, read some of the disgusting comments these folks post.

It gets sicker by the hour. I started to copy & past part of it here but there's just too much worth reading.

How often do they do that with gloves that have just been in someone's crotch, up a skirt, or digging through soiled skivvies in someone's carryon?

As I said in the Other Place, it's disgusting how the TSA spokes-drone leaps to the defence of the "officer" before even getting the details of the case. Translation: "I don't have any information yet but I'm already claiming that the TSA employee did absolutely the right thing." :td:

These people are already feeling the groin areas, butts, and breasts of passengers not suspected of even the slightest crime, and inspecting their hair as if their were on the way to serve out a prison sentence. Why would you expect them to have moral qualms about any of this? They clearly would have no problem running the secure pass scanners that DO see all the way through you body cavities, bone and all. They would have no problems yanking the clothes off the pax and looking at them naked. If you are TSA and are offended by what I just said, on what grounds do you take offense? "I see nothing wrong with feeling your pubic bone, your *ss, or looking at your wife's and daugher's naked image, I see nothing wrong with running my hands through your hair as if you were a felon, I see nothing wrong with male TSA clerks doing coerced groin, butt, and breast rub overs on a female passenger if there were no female screeners available. But no, I'd quit before I'd participate in physically strip searching you or be a party to cavity searches.." I think the TSA could institute a lot worse things than they currently do and we'd get the same folks defending it. Our problem is that we don't really understand the type of folks that work in the TSA. They really don't see anything wrong with any of this. Let that sink in. If you can.

No, they would do pretty much anything Pistole may tell them to do, regardless of how bad. That is why I have such disdain for any TSA employee, regardless of prior history.

I disagree that we don't understand the type of folks that work in the TSA. All you have to do is read posts from some of them to know what we are dealing with. A forensic psychologist could provide a very complete diagnosis from their writings and watching them in action at checkpoints.

He' probably only had hearing aids & a brain for a couple days. In some segments of the population they rarely occur together.

I don't think they've been doing those intrusive hair searches (at least not regularly) for more than few months. I first noticed one in a video 3-4 months ago. The discussion revolved around the rest of the search but the way the TSO was running her hands through the woman's hair really stood out.

My partner has really long waist length hair, if some TSO dude ran his fingers through his hair, my guy would LOSE his mind. I honestly think he'd object to that more than the karate chop to the jewels. He doesn't even really like it when I fiddle with the "mane"... yet another reason we won't be flying until the TSA and their ridiculous searches go away. It's such a shame.

Yepindoodles. If you've ever heard a criminal explain away his/her behavior, then you'll recognize the pattern of justification and obfuscation. A criminal never accepts responsibility for his/her behavior, fails at empathy/tends toward sadism, and never admits to doing anything wrong.

The TSA is a criminal organization from top to bottom.

Unfortunately that sounds like a lot of government agencies, including the one I used to work for.
Based on the wonderful video that Fisher posted 7/12, featuring doofus1 and doofus2, much of what goes on at the checkpoint isn't that complicated.

Philip Zimbardo and Stanley Milgram explained it all more than 40 years ago. People -- most people -- will become acclimated to anything, no matter how base, degrading, cruel, or sadistic.
