    Hi folks,
Thanks for the invite. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get over here from FT. I have had to lighten up on the amount of time I spend on the message boards because it was actually starting to take a toll on my mental and physical health. The entire TSA situation is so distressing and disturbing to me that I have to take it in small doses. I will try to be an active member on this site but it may be somewhat limited at least for a while. For my own good, I need to take it easy. Thanks for understanding and please keep up the great work by spreading the message to others about the abuse that is occurring at airports out there every day. It needs to STOP. NOW.

    Welcome to TUG, TXagogo!

I understand and empathize with the toll this situation has taken on you. You know it's going to make you angry to read about it, but at the same time you feel like you can't leave it be because something big might happen without you.

I was the same way during the heyday of RIAA lawsuits. Had to keep my finger on the pulse of the copyfight, donate as much as I could to EFF, keep abreast of untraceable P2P stuff to use, etc.

Now it's donating to ACLU, writing to my elected officials, spreading the word about TSA abuse on Facebook and wherever else I can...second verse, same as the first, I guess.

However you slice it, though, we're happy you've decided to join us.

Celtic - you nailed it right on the head. It has taken a real toll on me because travel is the means to my livelihood. I feel compelled to read about it and stay abreast of what is going on but at the same time it causes me great internal distress. I feel like no one out there really understood until I read your words above. Thanks so much for the message!

Welcome to TUG! So glad to have you on here. Hope we can still plan on a NoS protest, as we discussed for MSY. :)

Hey Friendly - good to see ya on here!

I definitely wanted to start peaceful protests but the more I thought about it back then the more I started to think that by boycotting the airlines we could do greater good. My travel is down about 40% this year but I still have to go out on a semi-regular basis. Now, I'm not sure. Somehow we need an educational program to help more people understand what is going on. But I have to admit - with youtube and twitter the TSA is doing a darn good job of eliminating any credibility they *may* have ever had. Guess they better go paint a few more American flags on the walls to show how patriotic they are.

Looking at starting a psyops against TSOs. Start with:

"You know most of the problems your agency has are because of poor management in D.C. Those guys through together a half baked plan after 9/11 and never improved on it. Had the fixed the issues up front your job would be much easier. They demand you guys follow the SOP. No problem there, but how do you manage to sleep at night knowing that you've violated passenger's rights and robbed them of their dignity just because they want to fly? I was following orders is no excuse."

I just get them to admit what they're going to touch, and if they obfuscate and continue hiding behind euphemism I call them out:

"So you're going to come into contact with my testicles? That's disgusting!"
