Drip, drip, drip. The sound of tourist dollars leaving the U.S. Good. Just as with the abuse at the airports, this is what it takes for the dunderheaded to wake up.
What does this remind you of?
Not drip, water fall.
Have lost track of all the commenters at the NYT article who have mentioned the TSA. Small bright spot.
One of my favorite bands (non-goth) from the UK was in this spot -- The Men They Couldn't Hang. I don't think any of them were able to get visas. The band has pretty strong pro-union, anti-government politics, and I'm sure that all played a part in it.
Great name for a band!
They often get compared to The Pogues -- but TMTCH are way better. Go find Ironmasters, The Colours, or Billy Morgan. It's a crying shame they can't get visas.
I just listened to The Colours and was very impressed.
But these aren't just any old tourism dollars. Entertainers not only spend money but can have a tremendous multiplier effect from the economic activity that results from their visits.
We are cutting off our nose to spite our face. We well deserve all the bad karma we derive from actions like this.
