At the risk of stating this prematurely...
Game. Set. Match.
It's looking that way, but they're not getting the message.
A quick coda to our earlier conversation on this point:
While the author in this news article attributes the financial difficulties of American Airlines to the poor economy (and rightly so), note that the first comments are of the "I stopped flying because of the TSA" variety. AA's earnings outlook has led to an 33% fall in their share prices and a trading halt today, driven by the combination of the poor economy and the hostile airport environment. Here are a couple of articles if you want to go leave comments:
Not only did I stop flying because of the TSA and their clowns and thugs, but I changed jobs so I wouldn't have to fly any more. From 12,000+ miles/month to zero.
Don't tell us, tell them !
I think the letter I sent to three different airlines about what they could do with my miles was pretty clear. Certainly it had more effect than the comments on some random news article.
Wife & I were flying 125K miles annually for each of us, all discretionary, discretion exercised!
I changed jobs too.
Flying is up 50% over last year, and I am relaxed and happy to travel again. (Sorry to rub it in but it does make one appreciate how 'easy' flying is in most of the world, and to long for the days when it was that way in the US)
And once again this year I am going to offer up my US time share to friends to enjoy, instead of using it myself.
Heck, I went back to school and changed careers.
Righthaven just doesn't know when to quit: Vegas, Inc.: Righthaven appeals for right to file copyright suits over Denver Post material
They are appealing to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.
Poor dears, cry me a song.
In an article a few days earlier, Righthaven was trying to avoid getting socked with attorney's fees: Vegas, Inc.: Righthaven trying again to avoid paying prevailing defendants’ fees
Lots more in the articles, especially the 2nd one. Any additional brief quoting would just bee too out of context -- so read them (esp. the 2nd one)!
Righthaven now has appeals pending in both the 9th & 10th circuits.
And another article, predates the two above (I'm working backwards):
Vegas, Inc.: Defense attorneys suspicious of latest Righthaven maneuver
