It seems like the idiots at WBC are at it again saying they will protest at the funerals of the those that died in CT.

It’s officially gone too far. Protesting our soldiers is sickening enough, but KIDS? You’ve gone too far. I can see this ending very badly!!!!!

On another note the hackivist group Anonymous has been so kind as to leak the personal contact information of Westboro Church members

I dont' know what kind of vermin the WBC members are but I hope they meet the proper reception in the end and in my opinion it wouldn't be the pearly gates.

    Candidates for TSA?

could you please remove the link to home addresses and phone numbers? As reprehensible as their form of protest is, that information could well lead to bloodshed.

Everybody's aware that their "protests" are strictly set up so as to attract media attention and hopefully some First Amendment lawsuit money, right?

I believe it's their only appreciable source of income these days.

Considering the group that got the info and that was then posted to online...there will only be bloodsheed if WBC steps out of line. Considering WBC likes to talk a big game but when faced with opposition (like people from SOCOM) there likely to back down as there spineless like that.

I am not surprised by the reaction. Now Im hearing there are groups going up there to back WBC off (patriot guard, oath keepers, etc) as well as a few military groups as well. Some of the more vocal ones are hinting they wont think twice about "curb stomping" or removing WBC person from the gene pool if they try anything like protesting the deaths of these kids. EMS/FD/PD groups are saying they will send vechiles, ambulances and trucks to block them and make some noise. One would only hope a LE group brings a LRAD to shut them up.

Also unconfirmed reports that in order to protest/picket in this town they need a permit, and that the city would deny them the permit and arrest if they did show up to protest without one.

Tar and feathers would work well.

Some day these creeps are going to show up in a community where the police look the other way long enough for them to be taught a well-deserved lesson. How many of these vermin actually show up to picket?

From what I've read, Newtown is closing ranks behind the victims' families. Any creeps like WBC are going to get a very chilly reception.

It's a very interesting list and I don't have any issue linking to it, especially since it's all over the internet:

I don't want any of it pasted in here since it appears there might be some mistakes (extra, unrelated Phelps) in the list.

I do appreciate that people are thinking twice about posting this stuff here. (Generally at TUG home addresses & phone numbers are verboten, work is ok, linking is ok, unless maybe it's an ad hoc list created especially for linking from TUG.)

With a couple exceptions (one works at Footlocker, on at a YMCA) the employment is either intra-familial (e.g. a family law firm named Phelps Chartered) or in the public sector where it's much harder to fire bigots. What's frightening is that these public sector jobs are all or mostly (I didn't look up every phone number) in law-enforcement related agencies, e.g. Kansas Dept. Of Corrections, Sheriff's Office, Topeka Parole Office. Several are attorneys so basically they have their own "in-house" legal counsel.

Interesting ... this new anon group (calls itself Lulz Financial) apparently celebrated this week with "Operation Blitzkrieg", which attacked not only the Westboro Baptist Church but also neo-Nazi sites including Stormfront & the American Nazi Party as well as dozens of Syrian gov't email accounts. ^^^^

Before I start cheering for these guys, I need to be assured that their operations aren't funded by criminal activities (e.g. mass credit card theft) like the previous generation of Anonymous.

Precisely the lawsuit-fodder they're looking for.

Not necessarily, cities can have those types of restrictions and legislate them to keep them away. The patriot guard and several hundred PF/FD/EMS and military types makes a good human wall.

I read somewhere (can't find it) this week that someone, again if I could find the article, wants to reclassify Westboro Church as a hate group. OMG I sound like Harry Reid, "I heard somewhere from someone that Mitt Romney hasn't paid taxes". I'll keep searching for the article but obviously this wouldn't be good news for Westboro.

De-classifying it as a Church would be a good start.
BTW, I didn't answer the poll b/c I thought they had "gone too far" long before this.
