Did this happen? If so, why isn't it in the newspaper in New Mexico?

Courthouse News Service is probably the original source -- it broke about 24 hours ago.

Rather than play it in the media, I surmise that the guardian/parents just quietly went to an attorney.

The only press talking about serious US issues is the alternative press in this country and foreign press. "main stream media" is totally a tool of the state-financial interest complex. All we get out of our media is daily report on the size of Kim Kardashian's butt. They are totally useless.

I appreciate Mike's spirited defense of the main stream press, but my inclinations lean toward nachtnabel's perspective. It seems like the lame stream only picks up a story once it's been thoroughly explored by the alternative & foreign news sources.

As a news junkie, I find myself reading bland, dumbed down versions of U.S. events from Fox, CNN & MSNBC weeks after the real news outlets have moved on to more current topics.

I can't even watch a "News" Show on TV any more. They're all so vacuous I fear frustration will cause me to suffer an aneurysm before they say anything newsworthy.

Perhaps true but this is a bad example.

I did an extensive search for the roots of this story when I first read it here yesterday. There is ZERO indication that the event was publicly known until the lawsuit was filed. It appears not to have been syndicated by any wire services.

It has been picked up by a number of news blogs, e.g. Opposing Views, Inquisitr, etc.

Daily Mail, Russia Today, etc., probably find a lot of their material in the same unconventional way that I do: Google

With regard to this story, that's simply B.S. Do a Google News search for this, sort by dates, show duplicates.

Courthouse News Service ran it first. Their job is to read lawsuits that are filed. That's what they did, and that's how the story broke.

Next entry listed is Opposing Views, a U.S. news blog, followed by Reason, another U.S. news blog.

Several hours after Courthouse News service broke it, the Iranians (Press RV) & the Russians (RT) finally figured out which way is up.

I'll one up you in the TV department. I don't watch it at all, except when I'm a captive audience somewhere and have no choice.

I first found out about this via The Agitator comments area.
