This is just sick -- what kind of whacked out nutcases are running our schools & sports programs?

WFAA: 'Act of faith' costs track team a win, trip to state championships

This past weekend, the Columbus High School Mighty Cardinals had just won a boys relay race when a runner’s final gesture got them disqualified. As he was crossing the finish line, Derrick Hayes pointed up to the sky.

I really don't how one rationalizes or explain what he was doing. Unless he was giving some a middle-finger salute or the equivalent thereof, it shouldn't matter. This kid & his team got screwed royally.

Even worse that Columbus staff doesn't protest. So much for the "spirit" of the rule, let alone defending a mild declaration of faith. Teaching students to accept unjust enforcement, and be quiet little sheep.

I would think that a good lawyer could put an end to this stupidity on first amendment grounds, if this track meet was managed on behalf of public schools.

This shows a desire to control going to ridiculous extremes. what a bunch of putzes. Not sure this was explicitly anti-religious though. Not quite in the same category as the Pentagon's recent intention to court-martial soldiers sharing their faith even in private conversations.

The libtards in our schools are busy braiwashing our children. Kids getting expelled for toaster strudels, t shirts with images of guns, and passing our candy canes. Not to mention teachers are failing to teach.

One of my son's teachers is an out communist. Definately one of the less stupid ones compared to the libs. Can't leave the teaching to the schools...
