Stuck at an airport for 8 days because she was too broke to pay the bag fees that she didn't know about, and the change fees started piling up .... ABC Local: Woman gets stuck at SFO for 8 days over baggage fees She had two bags but only enough money for one bag fee. They wouldn't let her leave one behind because it was "against security rules".
That's amazingly silly all around. And yet the airline still hold it's head up proud that they held the line. And the cops threatening to haul her in too? edit: wait a second, so if she had to buy a whole new ticket...did the church help her with that too?
This woman has a screw or two loose based on other reports I've read so my "victim" sympathy isn't working today.
Basically the same story I linked, Huffington just regurgitates wire feeds but doesn't necessarily acknowledge them. Not sure how she has any more screws loose than in the first article. U.S. Airways could have been more accommodating: US Airways has been my last choice since the Flying Imans incident at MSP, and this indifference doesn't help their image. Granted that the woman should have been smart enough to find a way to shed that 2nd suitcase, but we're not all rocket scientists with full bags of marbles.
