Nothing horrendous but just shows the stupidity of TSA theater. This one at MCO. In my experience MCO is one of the worst I was in line a few years ago with an elderly woman in a wheelchair three or four pax ahead. The screeners were screaming at her to get up to go through the WTMD. She was alone and being pushed through by an airport runner who just stood there ambivalent to the whole episode. Two screeners then began pulling on her arm trying to yank her out of the chair until she began moaning at which point a very large young man, think Albert Pujols, began shouting for them to stop and moved toward then at which point they let her go at tucked tail. They wanded her and pushed her through the CP.
Apparently granny got to spend some time on display in the penalty box: CNN: TSA stands by officers after pat-down of elderly woman in Florida There is no excuse for this public humiliation.
Butbutbut..."All patdowns will be performed by cler--um, officers of the same gender!" Way to follow your own SOP, dipshits. While my views regarding gender relations could be described as "far-future utopian sci-fi," there's still something (okay, a LOT) to be said for publishing a procedure and then adhering to it. People have a certain set of social expectations that we what the (expletive deleted) am I saying, this is TSA we're talking about.
Good eye. I missed that the first time. Given the angle and the man standing behind her it isn't clear to me exactly what was going on. It looks like she was beginning to be pushed through the scanner after 10 seconds so it couldn't have been a full grope down. The worst probably came later. Nonetheless they should have had a female screener doing the pre-grope groping.
